Meat Species Genetic ID Testing

AuthenTechnologies provides species-specific detection of trace* levels of a variety of different meat species, including pork, beef, lamb, goat, horse, chicken, and turkey.

AuthenTechnologies’ species detection service is unlike any other c test currently on the market; by incorporating both species-specific PCR and DNA sequencing, AuthenTechnologies’ testing service is more specific, reliable, and repeatable than other PCR-based testing, reducing the costly risk of false positive and negative results.

Our process utilizes species and/or genus-specific primers, which target small DNA fragments- such as those commonly found in processed, cooked, or extracted finished products.

*The limit of detection varies depending on the nature of the material; however tests have been validated to detect levels of DNA below 0.05 ng.
